چکیده
Introduction: The knowledge and realization of the frequency and multiplicity of abnormalities of the cystic artery is aperquisite for safe laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Objective:To describe the morphological characteristics of the cystic artery in the triangle of Calot. Methods: Descriptive-prospective cross sectional study was performed in 200 patients, who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy for symptomatic gallbladder disease, to observe variations cystic artery. Results: Eighty-nine percent (178/200) of the cystic arteries originated as a single artery from the right branch of the hepatic artery. Five percent (10/200) had two cystic arteries originating separately from right hepatic artery while 5 % (10/200) of cystic arteries passed anterior to the common hepatic duct and 1%(2/200) traversed over cystic duct. Majority, 41%(82/200) of the patients right hepatic artery was ling in the triangle of Calot’s. Two percent (4/200) of the patients had right hepatic artery running over the common hepatic duct. Conclusion:It has been observed that the variation of the cystic artery in the triangle of Calot is not infrequent and this knowledge will enhance the safe laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

The course of the cystic artery during laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
Proper recognition of the particular structures that form the triangle of Calot is essential for the proper and safe performance of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Proper recognition, ligation, and cut of the cystic duct and cystic artery with branches (dorsal and ventral) remain an integral condition for the removal of the gallbladder. Calot's triangle, as an orientation structure, determines th...
متن کاملThe problem with an Hepatic Artery Injury Postlaparoscopic Cholecystectomy in China
The incidence of vascular injury remains a problematic complication of laparoscopic cholecystectomy, due to the anatomic variations of the cystic artery. Therefore, the focus of this study was to investigate the origin, course, and termination of the cystic artery using dual source computed tomography. Currently, laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) has emerged as a golden standard in the treatmen...
متن کاملCystic Artery: Morphological Study and Surgical Significance
The cystic artery is the key structure sought to be clipped or ligated during laparoscopic or conventional cholecystectomy. The possible complications like hemorrhage or hepatobiliary injury are always centered on the search, dissection, and clipping or ligation of the cystic artery, many a time because of possibility of variations in its course and relations to the biliary ducts. This descript...
متن کاملCiliated foregut cyst in the triangle of Calot: the first report
Ciliated foregut cysts are rare anomalies arising from remnants of aberrant embryological development. Around 100 reports on the presence of these congenital masses in the tracheobronchial tree, mediastinum, liver, pancreas and, rarely, the gallbladder have been described. In this article, the case of a 33-year-old woman, who was operated for a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, is presented. During...
متن کاملMarionette method for transumbilical single-incision, two-trocar laparoscopic cholecystectomy: a new, simple technique.
BACKGROUND/AIMS Single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy (SILC) has recently become a topic of interest among types of minimally invasive surgery. METHODOLOGY We developed a novel "marionette method"technique for performing SILC. Two 5 mm trocars were placed through a 1.5 cm transumbilical incision. In addition, a nylon suture with a laparoscopic sliding knot was used to tighten the fundu...
